Ebonyi Gov Nwifuru vows to reduce poverty by 50%


Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru has vowed to reduce poverty by fifty percent (50%), especially in the rural areas before the end of his administration in the state. Nwifuru who was represented by the state commissioner for Skills and Job Creation, Mr. Elijah Oko-Udu, disclosed this while speaking with newsmen shortly after a stakeholder’s town hall meeting to review the appointment of his aides. He expressed readiness to eradicate poverty and boost agriculture and education within the short period of his administration. He said, “Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru through the ministry of skills and job creation is determined to reduce poverty by fifty percent within a short time in office. “The state through my ministry will soon have a comparative advantage to compete with the states in the Federation. “You know that our state is formerly known as backwards and poorest in terms of education and agriculture but by the end of this tenure, Ebonyi State will have a great tangible thing to boast of. “Ebonyi State under Francis Nwifuru will now compete with other states favourably.” He further applauded the governor for his determination to carry along all stakeholders as a way to foster peace and unity in the state.
