Dont run away from your kinsmen Oyo Senator tells Nigerians

A member of the National Assembly, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, has advised philanthropists across the country not to run away from their kinsmen. Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made this disclosure while speaking during the 60th anniversary lecture of Igboora High School, in Igboora town in Oyo State on Thursday. Alli, while addressing the audience, charged them “to invest more on self development and community service.” Alli said, “The school was founded in 1963 through the efforts of community leaders and other Indigenes. There is a need for Nigerians to contribute their quota to the development of their respective communities. “No society would develop without strong commitment, dedication and contributions from the citizenry”. Former Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande, in his lecture titled ‘Community Service and Human Development’ said that there was hope of a more rewarding future when parents invested in their children. Akande, who was represented by Kunle Ajisebiyawo, said, “There is hope for a better future with every investment on our children. Education is the solution to poverty, insecurity, environmental degradation and community development.” Don’t run away from your kinsmen – Oyo Senator tells Nigerians
