Osun has no economy – Ex-Reps member, Lasun Yusuff

A former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuff has declared that there is no economy yet in Osun State.

He promised to transform the State to a trillion Naira economy under eight years if given the chance and elected as governor.

Yusuff, in a radio programme monitored in Osogbo on Friday, stated that he has what it would take to create an economy for the State.

He disclosed that he was not part of people who do not believe in the ability of home grown politicians to create an economy for the State, adding that he was going to create a suitable economy for Osun within four years as governor.

According to him, “I will create an economy that the people will live on.

“I have what it takes to create an economy for the state and since I want to be governor, I will create and transform Osun economy in a timeline of four years.

“No economy is developed by foreigners but it takes locals to develop the economy of an area.”

The former number six man in Nigeria also revealed that to drive an economy, there was need for development in the education, health and agriculture sector and exploitation of the mineral resources.

The former Deputy Speaker while lamenting the deplorable state of education in the State, stressed that education being a liberating force, a swift change was needed in the sector.
