The African Academy of Sciences (AAS) and the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study (STIAS) are inviting applications from participants to attend the 3rdWorkshop on Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine. The workshop is taking place from27 June to 1 July 2016 in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
It is themed “Health in Transition”. The workshop seeks to impart knowledge and skills in stem cell science and applications including regenerative medicine to early career scientists. The workshop also aims to provide opportunities for networking among a multidisciplinary team of experts in the field.

Applicants must be aged 40 or below and be employed in a research institution or a university. Applicants must also provide a CV and a motivation statement of not more than 500 words and a letter of support from a mentor from the same institution describing the suitability of the candidate for professional development in the field of CB/RM and how the training would fit into the institutional plan.

Reminder to register for joint AAS and RSTMH scientific meeting
The African Academy of Sciences and the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene are excited to announce a joint scientific meeting in Nairobi on 07-08 July 2016. This two-day meeting will provide a platform for researchers from a wide range of disciplines to present latest developments around the theme of 'the epidemiological transition'.
Featuring keynote presentations from research leaders across the African continent, the meeting will cover both communicable and non communicable diseases, drawing on basic, clinical and health systems research.
