<p>Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the immediate dissolution of boards, commissions and parastatal in the state and terminated the appointments of political appointees.</p>
<p>The governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, disclosed this in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Sunday.</p>
<p>Oyebode said the affected political appointees included Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants and Technical Assistants.</p>
<p>He said the decision was part of the gradual winding down of the governor’s first term ahead of his second-term inauguration scheduled for October 16, 2026.</p>
<p>However, the dissolution does not affect statutory bodies, including the State Independent Electoral Commission, Civil Service Commission, House of Assembly Service Commission and Judicial Service Commission.</p>
<p>Oyebode said the chairmen of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Local Government Service Commission and Teaching Service Commission would remain in office, although their respective boards had been dissolved.</p>
<p>The Directors-General and Technical Advisers to the governor are also exempted from the termination of appointments.</p>
