<p>Four people have died and 10 others sustained injuries following a road accident along the Ilesa/Akure Expressway at Omi Asoro Junction in Ilesa, Osun State.</p>
<p>The crash, which occurred on Thursday evening, involved a Toyota Hiace commercial vehicle and a Suzuki commercial mini-bus, popular known as Korope, travelling towards the Akure end of the road.</p>
<p>The Osun Sector Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Agnes Ogungbemi, confirmed the incident in a statement made available to journalists on Friday.</p>
<p>Providing official details, Ogungbemi said, “Four people died while 10 others sustained injuries. Three of the victims, two male adults and a female child, died instantly. Another passenger died this morning. The remains of the deceased have been taken to Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa.”</p>
<p>She added, “Those injured include seven adults and three children. The accident involved a Toyota Hiace commercial vehicle and a Suzuki commercial mini-bus. The driver of the mini-bus had no driver’s licence.”</p>
<p>Details surrounding the cause of the crash were not immediately available as of the time of filing this report.</p>
<p>However, sources close to the scene said the accident involved a mini-bus and a Toyota bus operating along the busy highway.</p>
<p>A trader near the scene, identified simply as Tobi, said the collision occurred around 9 p.m. when a bus conveying phone accessories and electronic appliances collided with an intra-city mini-bus operating within Ilesa metropolis.</p>
<p>Tobi said the impact of the collision drew the attention of residents and road users, who rushed to assist victims before emergency responders arrived.</p>
