Adamawa govt inspects private school for possible takeover


The Adamawa State Government has commenced steps to possibly take over a private school which owner has indicated lack of capacity to continue to run.

The state Universal Basic Education Board has inspected the private school located in Wauru Jabbe Saman Dam, Girei Local Government Area, in response to a request for its possible conversion to a public school.

The inspection visit was led by the Permanent Member II of the basic education board, Dr. Aliyu Sa’ad, who was received by the Chairman of the Wauru Jabbe Saman Dam 7-Point Agenda, Malam Badamasi Yakubu. 

Speaking during the visit, a Wauro Jabbe community leader, the Wakilin Mai Jimilla, Malam Abdulhamid Abba, thanked the team from the education board  for honouring the request for the school takeover. 

Responding on behalf of his delegation, Dr. Aliyu Sa’ad affirmed that the visit was in response to a formal request submitted to the board concerning the privately owned school which proprietor indicated decision to sell.

He clarified that the inspection was part of due process to assess the school, and assured the community that findings from the inspection would be documented and presented to the board’s management for further consideration.
