The Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, has summoned 57 teachers from various government primary and junior secondary schools for alleged gross misconduct and absenteeism.
The affected teachers – from GJSS Miri, Gumli, Haka Yafi, Tsohon Kamfani and Guru Junior Secondary School – have been directed to appear before the Board to explain their actions.
The move follows a directive from SUBEB’s Executive Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri, who expressed determination to address absenteeism and improve the quality of education in the state.
Alhaji Duguri expressed concern over persistent absenteeism by some teachers without valid reasons, reaffirming his commitment to reforming the basic education system.
He vowed that ensuring teachers fulfill their responsibilities is crucial to delivering quality education to students.
The chairman stressed on the importance of closely monitoring schools, particularly in rural areas, to identify the root causes of absenteeism and improve the learning environment across the state.
