FCT: Abuja not Port Harcourt, don’t create chaos – Bwala cautions Wike

Former federal lawmaker, Daniel Bwala, has warned Nyesom Wike, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, not to create chaos in the city, saying that Abuja is not Port Harcourt.

Bwala warned that Wike would be forced to sacrifice his job if he jeopardises President Bola Tinubu’s interests.

DAILY POST reports that Wike was among the 45 ministers sworn into office by President Bola Tinubu at the presidential villa in Abuja.

However, following his swearing in, Wike has threatened to embark on the demolition of houses built illegally in Abuja.

Wike stated in his inaugural address at the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA office on Monday that he would move against structures obstructing Abuja master plan.

“If your house is sitting where it should not be, it will go down,” he said.

But the statement did not go well with Bwala, who reminded Wike that the basic needs of the residents of the FCT include affordable healthcare facilities, access to good education facilities, clean sports and recreational centres and affordable transport system, among others.

He wrote, “TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN;

“Hello sir, in case you need refresher course; the basic needs of the residents of the FCT are; affordable healthcare facilities; access to good education facilities, clean sports and recreational centers, affordable transport services system, efficient and workable street light in the city centre and the suburbs; and finally, security.

“You came with a bullish and vendetta spirit, venting fire and brimstone about demolition and revocation of titles. Abuja is not Port Harcourt. If you create chaos in the city, you will jeopardise your principal’s interests and he will be forced to sacrifice your job. You will learn humility on the job.”
