The Katsina State Government is set to conduct recruitment examinations aimed at employing 7,000 credible teachers for the state. Gov.Dikko Radda’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, who disclosed this in a statement, said the initiative is part of efforts of the current administration to build a strong and vibrant educational system for the state by prioritizing merit and competence in the selection of teachers. The Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, while inaugurating the committee responsible for conducting the recruitment examinations in his office, highlighted the scope of the exercise, which encompasses two categories of candidates: 5,000 NCE/Diploma holders currently teaching in primary schools and 2,000 graduates serving as teachers in secondary schools. Jobe also emphasised the importance of reviewing the recent recruitment process, which saw the hasty employment of 3,889 teachers by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). Those recruited earlier are also required to participate in the recruitment examinations to ensure that only competent and qualified candidates are absorbed into the state’s teaching service. The deputy governor assured that rigorous methods will be employed throughout the recruitment process to uphold fairness and integrity. The committee, chaired by Sabi’u ĆŠahiru, with Lurwanu Haruna Gona, serving as Secretary, has a four-week period to complete the exercise and submit its report. Earlier, the Secretary to the Government of the State, Architect Ahmad Musa Dangiwa, urged the committee members and the educational consultancy firm entrusted with the task of preparing the examination to execute their duties with the utmost fairness and impartiality.
