The governorship candidate of the main opposition party in Ebonyi State, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, on Thursday, described as fake news the claims that his name and that of the National Assembly candidates of the party were delisted from the independent National electoral commission, INEC, website.
Odii made this known while addressing newsmen shortly after the PDP’s enlarged stakeholders’ meeting that took place at the Party’s office in Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State.
Odii called on citizens of the State to disregard the claims.
He announced the inauguration of the Party’s campaign council headed by a former chairman of the Ebonyi Universal Basic Education Board, UBEB, Mr. Austin Edeze.
According to him: “I have inaugurated my campaign council with a charge to them to work out the timetable for our campaigns to start.
“Ebonyians have been waiting for us to launch our campaigns and I have given them charge to do everything they need to do to ensure that our campaigns kick-start immediately.
“It is the handiwork of our opponents to say that the names of PDP candidates were delisted from INEC updated list. They are trying to confuse the people of the State,” he stated.
