Nigeria lacks true leadership – Labour Party gubernatorial candidate


The gubernatorial candidate of Labour Party (LP) in Kaduna State in the 2023 election, Jonathan Asake, has opined that the main problems bedevilling the country is lack of transparent leadership.

He noted that Labour Party is determined to change the narratives of what is happening in the country with a view to ensuring that leadership has a human face in its dealing with people devoid of any difference.

Speaking on Sunday at Zaria with some stakeholders, the gubernatorial candidate explained, “There is the need for justice, fairness and equity in ensuring that the right thing is done in order to carry all along in governance so that together the country will move forward towards ensuring sanity in all spheres of life.”

Jonathan Asake stated that in Kaduna state, the issue of lack of transparent leadership that is blessed with human and natural resources has been the major issue bedevilling the state.

He lamented that the insecurity that has bedeviled the country, and Kaduna state in particular, has hindered farmers to go to farms and cultivate their farmlands.

He added that following the security challenges have hindered children to continue with their education, saying that the insecurity situation has caused many communities to abandon their ancestral homes as a result of incessant attacks by bandits.

According to him, “Insecurity will be dealt with decisively in order to pave the way for people to go about their legitimate business while school children are given the privilege to continue with their academic activities as well as ensuring that all and sundry go about their normal activities.”

Most of the stakeholders that spoke explained that politicians seeking for elective positions should be true to their words in order to live in accordance to their promises when elected in office.
