2023: APC will reclaim Sokoto from PDP, retain other N’West states – Youth leader

The Northwest youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the party will reclaim Sokoto State from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and retain states already governed by the ruling party in the northwest region.

In a statement, he described the gubernatorial candidate of APC, who is also a former deputy governor of Sokoto, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu, as a formidable contender who would defeat PDP’s candidate in the upcoming poll.

Mohd stated that the PDP would never taste power in the region.

According to the APC youth wing leader, he said his party has over-delivered in terms of education, and infrastructure, among others, in states it occupied in the region, and as a result, retaining states under its control in the northwest will be a walkover come 2023.

He explained, “many close allies of Governor Aminu Tambuwal have decamped from the PDP to APC and more of them are expected exit the opposition party before elections Insha Allah. This is a clear pointer to show that APC remains a party to beat in the northwest and entire Nigeria as a whole.”

Mohd, added that “every political stunt made by the opposition party to win our people over would be thwarted”, adding that the PDP has ruled for 16 years and there is nothing good to write about them.

He explained that within six years of APC’s governance in the northwestern states, except Sokoto, led by a PDP governor, they witnessed massive infrastructural development like never before.

He stated that a visit to Kano and Kaduna alone is evidence to prove that their progressive governors are up and doing, stressing that they wanted the benefit to spread across “and that’s why we are taking over Sokoto from PDP next year.”
