The management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun, has denied news making the rounds regarding tenure elongation for the current Rector, Dr. John Taiwo Adekolawole.
The institution’s Management Council, in an official statement signed by its Registrar, Akinpade A. O. obtained by DAILY POST, refuted the rumour and added that there was no iota of truth in the news.
The Council, which stated that it had not considered such tenure elongation, added that it was not going to consider it whenever the tenure of the present Rector, Dr. Adekolawole expired.
According to the statement, “The Governing Council at its Plenary Session held on Monday 20th June, 2022 considered the rumour going round the Polytechnic that the Council was considering granting tenure elongation to the Rector when his tenure expires and stated categorically that there is iota of truth in the rumour as the Council has not considered and would not considered elongating the tenure of the rector whenever his tenure expires.”
While pleading with the Polytechnic community to disregard the rumour, it hinted that an advertisement for the position of the Rector has been sent to the press for publication.
